Gesret Diary (Skin) September 2012

Due to non compliance with the ethical principles that apply to all practitioners trained in Gesret method®, Mr. Karl RICHARD is no longer part of our network and is no longer entitled to practice the method.

I will be visiting Karl from September 2012 onwards in London in a bid to help alleviate my skin condition.

Karl has agreed for me to post my diary here so I can keep people updated with my progress.

I am a 33 yr old male who since the age of 6 suffered from mild asthma & allergies. However since 2005 the Asthma & Allergies were replaced by severe psoriasis. I am already maintaining an excellent diet and taking various vits + supplements as directed by two other health practioners in London. I am hoping the Gesret method is the final piece in the puzzle (alleviating any structural stressors my body is being exposed to). I believe I already have the Nutritional, Chemical and Emotional stressors in check.

My first appointment is early September 2012

Hello,

Thank you for proposing to post your diary here so that we can follow your progress and development as it happens. This should be very informative and educational for all other patients currently experiencing the Gesret method as well as for those patients who are considering it. I eagerly await your first update!

Given that you have already undergone other treatments and that you maintain a good diet, I am confident that the Gesret method will be the final piece of your puzzle.

Regards,

Karl-Frédéric RICHARD

Thanks for your response Karl, am incredibly keen to get going! September 8th cannot come soon enough!

One point - whenever I get a psoriasis flare up, the abdomen / rib cage area is always severly affected. Was hoping this doesnt create a problem with the manipualtion work you do

Thanks, see you in a couple of weeks

Hi,

Ever since I use this method, I have become accustomed working with people who are affected by psoriasis from head to toe. With practice, I manage to cope very well in these instances in ensuring that it will not be too painful for the patient. And I assure you that, for me, it does not impact my ability to manipulate and perform the method.

Sessions Completed: 1
Date of Last session: 8th September 2012
Days Since Start of Gesret Treatment: 1

I completed my first Gesret session yesterday in London with Karl. I have been told it can take the best part of 6 months to achieve brand new skin although significant improvement should be achieved much earlier than this. I am hoping by year end I will see this significant difference

The session itself starts with a 5-10 minute case history followed by 5-10 min warm up / relaxation period followed by a 30-35 min Gesret manipulation period

This involves various stretches / pulls/ twists/ turns / pushes over different parts of the body. Some of the manipulations are gentle, others a little "sudden" which lead to "cracks" being heard and some are a little sore (the pushes on the stomach area and pelvis area)

Before the session started it was seen that my right leg was a little shorter than the left, a little surprising since with psoriasis it is the left leg which is shorter, but it ties in with the asthma - asthma and psoriasis are connected and I must remember to ask Karl again how one can lead to the other (which is what happened in my case). After the session I did see the body was more structurally sound - I had more of a balance now and it is noticeable.

There were no real side effects afterwards apart from feeling more balanced. I didnt feel sick or sore and was perfectly fine.

My next session is in 2 weeks time so will update again then. Any questions, please do write on here so I can answer

Karl - I will send you a seperate mail to remind you of the Pagano links and links to the UK psoriasis forum in the next day or so

Hi Rupesh,

Thank you for your email. It perfectly describes a first session with a Gesret practitioner.

It is not asthma and psoriasis that are related but asthma and eczema, since in principle asthmatic / eczematous people have in common the fact of having a short right leg. It is for this reason that they are often found to be asthmatic or previously suffered from eczema. Conversely, people with eczema often have asthma attacks -- usually when one goes well the other goes wrong.

Regarding people with psoriasis, they typically have in common the fact of having a short leg on the left side. But, this is true only in 90% of cases. For example, in your case it is the opposite, so you are the exception that proves the rule.

But it is also possible that you previously had a short leg on the left side and that you have overcompensated and ended with a short right leg. In general, at the end of a couple of sessions, the short left leg reappears. Eventually we'll see.

Karl-Frédéric RICHARD

Sessions Completed: 2
Date of Last session: 22nd September 2012
Days Since Start of Gesret Treatment: 18

I have completed the second Gesret session last Saturday. It was pretty similar to the first one. However I pointed out to Karl that 5 years before my psoriasis started I had suffered what I felt was a minor injury lifting a heavy table, I had felt a crack near my sternum and this area was still sore when I pushed on it. Karl informed me that Jaques Gesret has stated that psoriasis can start 5 years after an injury! It literally was 5 years and 2 months after my injury!! So this is more than a co-incidence??!! Karl realised that the bone was out of place and we did some manipulation work on that area. I would be interested to know why it takes so long (5 years) for it to start! I am wondering if that injury is the root cause or one of many causes and if my body has been "stressed" because of it

During the session I did feel I couild breathe more "smoother" My balance is good right now, much better than before we started the first session when it was uneven. When I stand now I dont feel the need to lean on one leg anymore which I did in the past.

I return again in a week and a half now for another session. Karl has leant me his book "Healing Psoriasis" by Pagano although I feel I do know a lot of the literature. I continue to keep a good diet, take my supplements and finish of my NAET course.

In terms of the skin I havent noticed any major changes just yet, the next time I visit Karl, it will have been a month since I started and maybe I will see some small changes. My target is to have a significant difference by Year End, when it will have been almost 4 months, I hope thats achievable.

My biggest problem to date is that through Nutrition, diet and supplements I have managed to get significant clearence but it always returns either during the Winter months or when I feel stressed. I am hoping the body can cope much better with these "stressors" going forward

Hello Rupesh,

It does make sense (it stands to reason); it is often 5 years after an accident that psoriasis, SEP, or other pathology appears. And it is precisely "abnormal" that disease appears immediately after the accident.

So if your psoriasis appeared 5 years after a trauma to the sternum and the ribs (especially on the left side) it might very well be connected.

Here is something that you can check yourself:

One millimeter of movement to the right or to the left of the lower jaw relative to the upper jaw, are corresponding to 5 years of impaired spatial position of the sacrum. As a general rule the mandible moves to the opposite side of the short leg. But if the bite is moved higher (eg corresponding to a decade, it only means that the person is in short leg from a previous accident, and that it is the latter that with its combination with lesions that had given psoriasis. We have no statistics, but each time confirmed by the patient!

The accident gave a physical potential to give psoriasis (but the psoriasis didn’t appear cause under controlled of the body) and often an emotional shock that the body no longer controlled the output of psoriasis. The body can only handle one situation at a time; it's either the physiological or the behavioral.

Karl-Frédéric RICHARD

Hello Rupesh,

Grit your teeth, facing a mirror then roll up your lips and look at the axis of your lower incisors in relation to the axis of the upper.
A shift to the right indicates a short left leg and a shift to the left a short right leg . (As a general rule the mandible moves to the opposite side of the short leg.)

It takes roughly 5 years to shift the mandible from 1 mm, this gives you a good idea of when an accident may have occur and cause a structure disorder and a fake short leg.
An accident gave a physical potential to give psoriasis (but the psoriasis didn’t appear because it’s under control of the body) and often it's an emotional shock that triggers the psoriasis because then the body can no longer control the output of the psoriasis as the body can only handle one situation at a time; it's either physiological or the behavior.

Sessions Completed: 3
Date of Last session: 6th October 2012
Days Since Start of Gesret Treatment: 31

I completed my 3rd session last Saturday, we focussed some of the work in and around the Sternum area where I still experience some dull soreness, otherwise it was similar to previous sessions although I have noticed that the soreness during each session is less and less. Compared to the 1st session where I must admit I felt some soreness, this last session was completley fine. We will post pictures after the next session which is on Sat 27th October (it will have been 52 days since the start of the treatments so I am hoping we can see some noticeable changes, fingers crossed).
Im not sure how many sessions I would require but YEAR END is still my big check- point; I would be disappointed if I didnt see significant changes and clearences by then. (It will have been almost 4 months at YEAR END)

There are some questions I would now like to ask:

1. Could you suggest some external application for my skin? I am using a cream for skin complaints but would really like to target the lesions and speed by clearing

2. I would like to know whether psoriasis is indeed a 2 factor shock condition. By this I mean does there have to be both a physical and emotional shock for the condition to manifest? As you know I suffered the physical shock in 2000 and the emotional shock in 2005, which was then followed by the outbreak.

3. I am still experiencing some dull soreness in the Sternum area, I would like to better understand what would have happened to me during the time of the physical shock (carrying a heavy table I heard a crack and have experienced soreness whenever I push on this area). I am hoping this soreness eventually disappears once the ribs are "unlocked and free"

4. If psoriasis requires both a physical shock and emotional shock for it to manifest then is it correct that once I am healed through Gesret, I would require another physical shock and emotional shock for it to manifest again??! Is it true that the Gesret method works on the Sympathetic level? It would be great if this was explained in layman terms.

Thank you for the time taken to answer the above

Hello Rupesh,

Could you suggest some external application for my skin? I am using a cream for skin complaints but would really like to target the lesions and speed by clearing

Indeed, Jacques Gesret has developed an herbal preparation for psoriasis and dry eczema, as well as a lotion for the scalp. Formulas preparations are public. This preparation is not meant to treat psoriasis as do common pharmaceuticals in this type of pathology. Its principle of action is completely different.

When Jacques Gesret designed it, he asked himself the following question: if in a room there are two plates of seeds - one in the middle of the room - one on the radiator - these will germinate faster than the first ones. Therefore, it is necessary to lower the temperature of the areas where the lesions grow by repairing capillaries (small veins) that are dilated permanently. Why is the temperature hotter in these areas? Simply because it is a permanent capillaries vasodilatation! In which case a skin area develop this type of reaction? In the case of repeated rubbing and abnormal skin area, the first reaction is vasodilatation of the capillaries and if the mechanical phenomenon persists, the keratin layer will thicken and form a protective callus.

The phenomenon is very similar in psoriasis. So he first tried a plant that could help repair hair, another who improved circulation, which caused a further vasoconstriction (temporary not to have a rebound effect) and another with a healing power.

After a few rounds of double-blind trials, this approach proved to be the most efficient. It repairs hair well and give good results on rosacea and (small) veins. Still, it helps to eliminate damages by avoiding the self-perpetuation of the skin damages:it is a vicious circle where the dry skin is irritating nerves ending that will trigger the vasodilatation reflex.

Dermatologists have tested it in parallel with conventional products on the same patient and came to the conclusion that it was surprisingly effective. You can try it, it comes cheap. Formulas preparations are public; you can copy them and have a druggist herbalist to make them.

Here is the Gesret’ formula

1. The first preparations: Ointment P1 Psoriasis 100 g

TM Paeonia officinalis 9,0 g

TM Ruscus aesculus 9,0 g

TM Cupressus semp. 9,0 g

TM Capsella burs. Past. 9,0 g

Onguent PM III QSP 100,0 g

Note: this ointment is not sold and the formula is too complex for a pharmacist at the request of one customer. Also, I suggest you replace the ointment with distilled water and dab with a cotton lesions. The result is normally the same, the carrier being a simple neutral medium without specific effect.

The first preparation (no smell, non-greasy) is to be applied 2 to 3 times per day on the lesions (in small amounts, rub until the skin is drier).

If the lesions are on the whole body, treat the thicker lesions because the preparation is done with tinctures and therefore contains a little alcohol that passes through the skin. Alternatively, you can dilute the tincture of calendula with three measures of water and dab the itching areas using a cotton pad soaked in this mixture. Calendula is antipruritic and healing.

2. The second preparation: (to be used in lotion by rubbing the scalp) Ointment P2 ditto 200 g

The second preparation is to be used in lotion by rubbing the scalp, 3 to 4 times per week. It is recommended to wash you hair with a mild shampoo (Ducray kind).

3. The third preparation Ointment P3 cracks 100 g

Borage Oil 20.0 ml
Arnica oil 20.0 ml
Cod liver oil 20.0 ml
Ointment qs 100.0 g cetyl

Note, ditto for this ointment, ask your pharmacist to use a neutral gel, otherwise use the preparation in liquid form, the result will be the same, the carrier being a mere support for a presentation in the form of ointment.

4. The fourth preparation: Ointment P4 30 g Staphylococcal Superinfection

HE lavandula off. 1.0 ml
HE Lemongrass 1.0 ml
Phytogel QSP 30.0 g

5. The fifth preparation: Lotion L1 Scalp psoriasis 125 ml

TM Paeonia officinalis 9%
TM Ruscus aesculus 9%
TM Cupressus semp. 9%
TM Capsella burs. Past. 9%
Distilled water qs 125 ml

6. The sixth preparation: Soap S1 150 ml adult (Staphylococcal infection)

HE lavandula off. 3.0 ml
HE Lemongrass 3.0 ml
® 150 ml soap LUBEX or totally neutral soap, no additives, perfumes, etc…
Can be used for babies.

7. The seventh preparation: Soap S2 150 ml child (Staphylococcal infection)

HE lavandula off. 1.1 ml
HE Lemongrass 1.1 ml
® 150 ml soap LUBEX

Thus, against all odds, you can continue to treat your skin problems with my compositions which have proven their worth since 1987.

I would like to know whether psoriasis is indeed a 2 factor shock condition. By this I mean does there have to be both a physical and emotional shock for the condition to manifest? As you know I suffered the physical shock in 2000 and the emotional shock in 2005, which was then followed by the outbreak.

The physical accident (causative factor) causes the body to develop psoriasis at a latent stage, which means that after a physical shock, the body has the potential of starting a psoriasis crisis but this capability is not expressed. There must be a trigger (emotional factor) for that. So before the emotional factor happens the psoriasis remains latent and will not induce a break out. An emotional shock (which is a triggering factor so call “body decompensation”) will cause the body to be unable to control the output of psoriasis and will cause the disease.

This can be explained as follows, the body can only handle one situation at a time either it is physiological, behavioural or emotional.

In other words, if an emotional shock happens it will overwhelm the body causing it to decompensate: the psoriasis is no longer latent it is now expressed.

Usually a psycho-affective disorder cannot create a particular pathology on an organ or dysfunction such as psoriasis without a primary cause (located in the structure, exactly what we are trying to treat) between the psycho-affective disorder and the central system. So if we fix the structure there is no need to take care of the psycho-affective disorder. However once the structure is fixed nothing prevents you from an another psycho-affective disorder recreating a structural problem that will lead again to a precise pathology or dysfunction on an organ.

It's quite possible for a disorder located in the structure to induce a precise pathology or a malfunction on an organ or cause reactions of the immune system and also affect the psycho-emotional behavior of a person.

In short, psycho-affective disorders determine structural problems that create symptoms.

As our action is focused on the structure, we can have a result on both psycho-affective disorders and symptoms

Don’t worry, this soreness will disappears once the ribs are "unlocked and free" but it takes time especially when the trauma occurred a long time ago. A physical shock creates lesions or brocade.

Karl-Frédéric RICHARD

Karl informed me my breathing needed to be better, How do I achieve this? Also should I do some light exercises to help build up muscle, as you know I am slim and would like to put on a bit of weight but not at the expense of upsetting the structure of the body and upsetting all the good work done by the Gesret sessions

Thank you

Hello Rupesh,

Here are some examples of the kind of stretching you can do on a daily basis to keep good respiratory capacity. If your health has a tendency to go off balance one or two month after a treatment (stuffy nose, loss of mobility of your rib cage) you'll need to do the following exercises. These exercises done one after the other will allow you to get back the sensations you have after a Gesret method session (ease, easy breathing throughout the whole rib cage and unstuffed nostrils). They have to be done regularly to prevent or heal these problems. Of course other types of exercises such as yoga can be profitable, they will help develop and stretch your rib cage and improve breathing.

RIB CAGE STRETCHING EXERCISES
Stretch the muscles in your rib cage through breathing exercises, back-bending exercises and forward fold stretches.
Your rib cage has two major sets of muscle layers: the external and internal intercostals. The external intercostals lift your rib cage and increase lung volume. Internal intercostals help depress the rib cage and aid forced exhalations. By practicing deep breathing, opening your chest and stretching your back you improve rib cage flexibility.

1 Three Part Breath
Sit in a comfortable position and notice the flow of breath in and out of your body. Bring a hand to your stomach and begin deepening your breath. Notice how your belly expands as you inhale while your belly sinks down on the exhale. Move your hand to your ribcage and feel your ribs expanding and contracting laterally as you inhale and exhale. Place your hand just above your heart and feel each inhale lifting this area of your body. Encourage these three movements on each deep breath starting with your belly, moving through your ribs and heart. Repeat for five to 10 breaths.

2 Cat Cow
Move through cat cows five to 10 times to warm up your spine and rib cage muscles. Kneel on all fours using a yoga mat to cushion your knees. Press your palms flat into the mat, keeping your hands shoulder-width apart and your knees hip-width apart. Inhale and track your gaze slowly up to the ceiling as you arch your back, dropping your belly and spreading your shoulders wide. Exhale and track your gaze gradually toward your belly button, rounding your back and tucking your tail bone as your back muscles stretch.

3 Bridge Pose
Lie on your back using a yoga mat for cushioning and traction. Bend your knees, bringing your bare feet as close to your hips as possible while keeping them hips-width apart. Hold a block between your knees to help maintain alignment. Place a thick blanket under your shoulders for support, if necessary. Rest your arms along your sides. Inhale, pressing into the soles of your feet and arms as you lift your pelvis off the floor. Press your shoulders into the mat as you lift through your rib cage on each inhale. Stay in the pose for five breaths then gradually lower back to the mat.

4 Head to Knee Bend
Sit on your yoga mat with a cushion under the edge of your sits-bones. Bend your right knee, bringing the sole of your right foot into your left thigh. Inhale, reaching your arms overhead then fold over your left leg, bringing your forehead down toward your left knee. Hold for several breaths, feeling a stretching along your back ribcage. Stretch the side of your rib cage by rotating your torso inward and reaching your right arm overhead. Repeat on both sides.

5 This cocktail is also good for limbering up the respiratory tract.
Do this sequence once a day.

Stand with your feet eighteen to twenty inches apart.
Clasp your hands behind your back and extend your arms down toward your heels.
As you inhale through your nose, lift and open your chest and rest your chin on your chest.
Feel the front lungs and chest inflating.
Exhale through your nose and release your chin.
Return to the neutral standing position.
Repeat three times.

Now, clasp your left wrist with your right and extend your arms in front of your body.
As you inhale through your nose, round your back and bend your knees so that your whole body is curling forward.
Feel the back lungs inflating.
Exhale through your nose and release, coming back to the neutral sanding position.
Repeat three times.

Regards,

Karl-Frédéric RICHARD

Just a short update this time; Have completed my 4th Gesret session last week and 5th will follow this coming weekend, skin looks pretty good right now! We have taken some photos so Karl, please could you publish and upload the photos to the forum.

We did a lot of work on the back this time and improving the posture. I geuinely felt as I left last weekend that my posture was much better and my chest was sticking out and shoulders were relaxed

I am going to start the yoga exercises soon and will post the links to the site once I find some good videos on the net.

One very tiny concern is that the dull soreness in the sternum area remains so I assume this area still needs to be unlocked, I guess this will happen over time

Hello Rupesh,

Thank you for the upgrade,

Yes you are right your skin is unquestionably better looking! Just take one look at the latest photos (see above) and compare them to the first ones taken before the first treatment.

Given the fact that the technique is based on a well balanced posture and that your illness comes from physical blockages it is very important for you to do limbering up exercises to keep psoriasis free.

Please don’t worry as your rib cage blockage is old and important it is normal for you to still feel some pain, it will go away after further treatment.

Another quick update on my birthday! Skin looks pretty good for this time of year. Again during the last session we worked on the sternum, the back the neck area and of course went through the Gesret Method

I am happy with the results so far, I have to work on yoga and breathing exercises too for long term relief.

We took some photos so hopefully we will be able to see them on the forum shortly but in 2 months there has been a MASSIVE postive change

Another session in a week and a half and then 3 weeks after that.

Thank you..

I completed another session yesterday and before we started we noticed that the skin had improved even further than last time (Karl will hopefully post new pics

We continue to work on the chest area and back, neck and legs (in fact it felt we worked the entire body this time).

I have noticed that when I go running, I get tired less and can run further than before, so that is a good secondary effect.

We are working on opening up the chest area which is still tight in order to improve the breathing. We did lots of deep breathing during the session, I felt light headed afterwards! I think this was the longest session we had.

I will soon post some links to the breathing exercises I am working on, I will find some good videos first.

Next session is not till December 15th, I feel if I continue my exercises, I will notice more changes before the next session

We completed another session of the Gesret on the 12th of Jan and I have another session this saturday - 2nd Feb. We placed a peice in my right shoe as I am still not fully symmetrical and Karl has some software which shows that my balance is still not right so we need to work on this

Also the soreness on my sternum still hasnt gone and also have noticed in recent weeks that there is another sore spot lower down on the left side of my lower abdomen so will need to get this fixed too.

I continue with the exercises at home in my own time

Skin remains fine just the odd spot here and there and also some discolourisation which I know can take between 6 months to 1 year to clear after an attack so I have a few months I need to wait for that to clear

We have done much of the work yet still have some work remaining to remove the last trace of psoriasis.

Perhaps you would agree to summarise your full story with the addition of photos to showcase the success. I would love to highlight this on the front page of the site. I think many people would receive value from seeing your progression.

Sessions Completed: 10
Date of Last session: 2nd February 2013
Days Since Start of Gesret Treatment: 170

Have completed 10 sessions now, we worked on trying to align the body as well as the normal Gesret session

As the weather has been very very cold over the last month my skin is still good although some stubborn spots remain. I have noticed my left arm still needs a bit of work but all other areas of my body are very good. I have one annoying red spot on my forehead! I will continue to moisturise.

Its also very important to drink a lot of water and I havent done this in the last month so maybe thats why the stubborn spots are still there so I have to make sure I drink at least 1.5 litres per day

I have another session this Saturday (2nd March) and then I am going to Dubai for one week so hopefully the sun will help.

I will also summarise my experience to date - Karl how do u want me to do this? Do you want to post the pictures up so I can tell my story? Let me know

Hi Rupesh,

As l always says, the stubborn spots remain the most difficult part to treat. We have made a lot of progress, but I think we can still do better. We can continue to fight to get the best results!

And yes, you are perfectly right, drinking a lot of water will also help to get rid of psoriasis. It is essential to drink plenty of water, and as most people know, coffee, soft drinks, beer and tea are not good substitutes for pure water.

Send me your full testimony on my e-mail, I will give it to Jacques who will put it on the front page of the website and of course, he will add the pictures.

Sessions Completed: 11
Date of Last session: 2 March 2013
Days Since Start of Gesret Treatment: 198

Just a quick update - we worked a lot on the neck area last time, 11 sessions have now passed

I do feel in the last 6 weeks however that my psoriasis has got slightly worse, especially on my left arm and the area below the back of my neck - near the shoulder blades - I am putting this down to the horrible weather we have had (the cold biting winds and the dry air) - this really does not help; every winter it is the same although this winter its not as bad but still cause for concern, I will have to ensure I moisturise a lot more than I am doing

I have just returned from a week in Dubai where I got a lot of sun althogh I am much better in the summer periods, I dont think 9 days in Dubai helped as much as I had hoped but it didnt get any worse which is something

I have another session this Saturday coming so will see how it goes, i think I need to continue until at least the summer and ensure we are doing everything possible to eradicate this fully

Karl - I think I will postpone the summary work until the skin improves to a level I am happy with, its fallen below where I would have liked it to be but I am sure we can get back there soon

Hi Rupesh,

The victory is near! We still have some areas to eradicate, but I'm confident. You can count on me to do my best to help make those last traces of psoriasis disappear.

Hello

Its been a while since I posted, my Psoriasis was ok till last 2 months when I suffered a lot of stress and some areas it has come back. I am continuing with NAET and various supplements but have decided to have at least 4 sessions this year starting next week (19 October) to help eraidcate the areas. I am about 75% - 80% clear but have lesions on my stomach area again which I cannot shift right now so hoping that Gesret method will help get rid of this
