Two sessions with Karl-Frederic Richard

Hello,

I just wanted to give an account of the two sessions my children had with Kark-Frederic Richard recently.
First I'll retrace quickly their "asthma" history. My daughter (6 yo) was diagnosed with "mild asthma" in the winter 2010, after weeks of endless dry cough. She had a flixotide treatment for 6 months then she was fine again. In winter 2011 the cough returned and we started the same treatment, which she has been following since december. My son (10 yo) followed approximately the same scenario, except he started coughing in the Autumn 2011 without having had any previous problem of that kind and had one asthma attack (maybe false-asthma, I couldn't say). Same diagnosis "mild asthma", same treatment.
I came accross the asthma-reality website when browsing for an alternative solution (or at least an explanation) to their problem and I took them to see M. Richard who practices in London.
So far they've had two sessions and I must say, although it is not perfect, that their condition has improved.
- My son has been off his medication for a month now and he shows no sign of needing it. He is fine and says his breathing capacity has greatly improved. He can feel it when doing sports at school.
- My daughter has been with a cold which prevents me from completely weaning her from her treatment, but even so I have been able to greatly reduce the amount of medicine she is taking every day.
I am convinced the Gesret Method is the right one for them. Unfortunately they both have the bad habit of sleeping on their tummy and it's difficult to keep the benefits of each session.
We are seeing M. Richard again in May. I hope I will find a way to keep them on their back when sleeping.
I will update again after the third session. I hope with good news.

Also, M. Richard is great with children. Mine were laughing for the whole session and went back running for the second one.

Hi Annaig,

I am very happy that you shared your experience with that you had with the Gesret sessions for your children. It is helpful for other readers of this forum to see first hand accounts of the success. So, I thank you for that.

As you know, the cause of the dry cough is an irritation of the glossopharyngeal nerve caused by a blockage of the first cervical. When a child suffer of endless dry cough, he can block his ribs or at least he will requests his ribcage and especially its first 3 ribs and when you know that asthma is linked to a breakdown of the first 3 ribs, you can easily understand that if the first 3 ribs are not entirely free, the caught may topple over or come to promote a real asthma attack.

Be that as it may, I am very pleased to know that both of your children have received some benefit from the treatment already. With additional attention, they are bound to see continued improvement, and there may be a time when they do not require medication at all.

And, as you noted, it can be very difficult to change habits and sleep on one's back. This comes with time and practice and can make a big difference in the future! I look forward to seeing you in May.

Regards,

Karl-Frédéric RICHARD

A quick comment after my children had their 3rd session with Karl-Frederic 3 weeks ago. They are fine. Both have been off their medication for weeks and they show no sign of needing it. It is great! I think I found a way to prevent them from sleeping on the tummy (a very tight t-shirt with a bulky but light toy attached on the front) and now they keep the benefit of their session.
I know the final test for me will be next winter. I will see it they show signs of needing treatment again but I hope they won't.
I just hope more practitioner will be trained in the UK.
Many thanks to Karl.

Hi Annaig

Thank you for keeping us informed of the rather positive effect that the "Gesret" sessions have had on your children.

In this case as in others it took only three sessions to see a marked improvement in symptoms. Doctors tell us that this is not evidence of the efficiency of the method, and they are right; which is why I am ready to do a randomized study in France or England with enough cases to prove medically that this method has an impact on the asthmatic condition. If a lung specialist on the forum could contact me:-)

I emphasize again that it is essential that patients no longer sleep on their stomachs so that they keep the benefit of their sessions. Otherwise recidivism is assured. Congratulations, it's really a very good idea of yours that you found to prevent your child from sleeping on his stomach, now I will advise my patients to do so.

Naturally, I hope that you will continue to keep us informed on the status of your children this winter.

As I said earlier, this year I will devote my time to find therapists across England who would be willing to train; I hope that many will.

Regards,

Karl-Frédéric RICHARD

Hi All, Hi Karl,

I wanted to give a quick update on my children who had three sessions with Karl-Frederic last spring. The october/november period is generally the time when things started to go wrong with them with the night time cough settling in and usually by the end of half-term one of them would have started on an inhaler. I am so happy to say that nothing like that happened this year. They are fine! They have had colds, long ones, but I've been using the "gand-ma remedies" and it all worked.
It gives me great confidence for the winter and I hope I'll be posting about a inhaler-free winter when spring comes.
Thanks so much to Karl.

Hi Annaig

Thank you one more time for keeping us informed (this time of the positive long-term effect) of the “Gesret" sessions. This is a real victory that I share with you.

Yes of course using the "grand-ma remedies” will help keep them healthy and at least will be less harmful.

Don’t worry, once the body restructured, and specifically when the rib cage blockages go away, there is no more reason for climate factors (cold, wet) or seasonal factors (spring allergy) to causes anything. The immune system is reinforce since the thorax is more functional and have more the ability to clear the mucus. Of course like all of their classmates, children have the possibility to do a little bronchitis once or twice a year; it will strengthen even more their immunity.

Remember that nocturnal cough is mainly due to a blockage of the first cervical, if his nocturnal cough ever comes back it means that it is locked again (because of fall, sleeping on the belly etc...). In this case only one more session will be sufficient to stop the nocturnal cough and it will be much easier this time.

Karl-Frédéric RICHARD

Hi All, Hi Karl,

It is spring! Well, at least my calendar says so... and my children went through winter without touching an inhaler! What a relief. After her three sessions last spring my daughter has been totally fine. She sailed through winter without the slightest worrying cough. The few times I heard her cough, it was so different from the previous winters it almost made me happy. My son needed two extra sessions around Christmas time, but he had a bad fall at the time and his postures are still not so good. He is fine too. He’s just come back from a school trip in a very humid area and still no problem.
Thanks very much to Karl. I am now totally convinced in the Gesret Method and I am trying to spread the word, hoping you will find practitioners to train in the UK. It is badly needed.
Regards

Hi Annaig,

Often the first thing parents ask me when they bring their children for treatment is whether or not just two or three sessions will be sufficient to see results -- and whether the symptoms will return as quickly as they disappeared. Thanks you for your testimony that illustrates that only one or two sessions may be sufficient -- but that it's even better if you receive treatments over time!

And thank you too for your enthusiasm, which warms my heart. I'm sure that one day many practitioners in England will perform the method. For now, I am working with several people who have expressed an interest in being training. I expect that more will come.

Regards,

Karl-Frédéric RICHARD

Treatment with Karl-Frederic Richard

Hi All,

I wanted to give an update and some comments on the treatment my children have received with Karl Richard in London. As I wrote before they were fine all winter and they seemed out of their bad habit of sleeping on their front. So as spring was progressing I decided to allow them to sleep without their special t-shirt. That was actually a bad idea, after 3 weeks my daughter was sleeping on her front and one night started coughing again! The cough got worse and worse over a few days and with no other symptoms I knew she had just got unbalanced again. Karl Richard's next visit to London was 3 weeks away so I made the trip to Paris so he could manipulate her. That was last week and she is fine now, the cough is almost completely gone.
So first lesson: Wait a bit more before removing "anti front-sleeping" devices.
Second lesson: There is a dire need of Gesret practitioner in the UK. How is it that no one is interested in learning this method? Really if I need to go to Paris each time my daughter sleeps on her tummy I'm happy to pay for a practitioner to get trained here. It would be more useful than buying train tickets...

Kind regards

Annaig
